Playtester One: Studio Member

Goal 1: The level of engagement that the player experiences in regard to speed.

How did you feel about the pace of the game?

Well paced and balanced.

Did you feel too rushed during the level?

Not really.

Were you ever bored by the speed of the game?

Nope.

How did you feel about the difficulty?

Pretty standard.

 

Goal 2: How well the game portrays the ethereal ambience.

What sort of ambience did the game have?

It filled the PX goal of ethereal.

What emotions did you feel?

I didn’t have much of an emotion reaction since I knew what the design is.

Did you find the game ethereal?

Yes.

 

Goal 3: Determine that all of the mechanics work how they are supposed to.

What mechanics work and/or don’t work?

They all worked.

Why?

NA

What could you add?

More in depth mechanics.

Did you see anything you thought may have been a glitch?

Nope.

 

 

Playtester Two: Studio Member

 

Goal 1: The level of engagement that the player experiences in regard to speed.

How did you feel about the pace of the game?

Slightly slow paced.

Did you feel too rushed during the level?

I had plenty of time left at the end of the game.

Were you ever bored by the speed of the game?

Not particularly, although it wasn’t riveting.

How did you feel about the difficulty?

Pretty easy.

 

Goal 2: How well the game portrays the ethereal ambience.

What sort of ambience did the game have?

Pretty ethereal.

What emotions did you feel?

Slightly paranoid because of the fog.

Did you find the game ethereal?

Yes.

 

Goal 3: Determine that all of the mechanics work how they are supposed to.

What mechanics work and/or don’t work?

It was a bit hard to click the torches sometimes.

Why?

NA

What could you add?

A larger variety of mechanics.

Did you see anything you thought may have been a glitch?

No.

 

Playtester Three: Naive Tester

 

Goal 1: The level of engagement that the player experiences in regard to speed.

How did you feel about the pace of the game?

The time went by super fast.

Did you feel too rushed during the level?

I wasn’t able to complete the level at all because I wasn’t fast enough.

Were you ever bored by the speed of the game?

No.

How did you feel about the difficulty?

Too difficult.

 

Goal 2: How well the game portrays the ethereal ambience.

What sort of ambience did the game have?

A bit spooky.

What emotions did you feel?

Daunted.

Did you find the game ethereal?

I guess.

What mechanics work and/or don’t work?

They all worked.

Why?

What could you add?

Time.

Did you see anything you thought may have been a glitch?

Playtester Four: Naive Tester

How did you feel about the pace of the game?

Relatively fast.

Did you feel too rushed during the level?

I did quite a bit at the start.

Were you ever bored by the speed of the game?

I didn’t have time to get bored.

How did you feel about the difficulty?

It was pretty tricky.

What sort of ambience did the game have?

Kinda creepy.

What emotions did you feel?

I felt a little worried that something would come out of the mist.

Did you find the game ethereal?

Mostly.

What mechanics work and/or don’t work?

All worked.

Why?

NA.

What could you add?

A bit more time.

Did you see anything you thought may have been a glitch?

Nope.

 

Playtester Five: Naive Tester

 

Goal 1: The level of engagement that the player experiences in regard to speed.

How did you feel about the pace of the game?

Well balanced.

Did you feel too rushed during the level?

I did at the start but as I got better I felt more comfortable.

Were you ever bored by the speed of the game?

I don’t think so.

How did you feel about the difficulty?

Hard at first but it gets easier.

 

Goal 2: How well the game portrays the ethereal ambience.

What sort of ambience did the game have?

A bit otherworldly.

What emotions did you feel?

Cautious at first but pretty dreamy towards the end.

Did you find the game ethereal?

Definitely.

What mechanics work and/or don’t work?

I think they all worked.

Why?

NA

What could you add?

More gameplay.

Did you see anything you thought may have been a glitch?

I don’t think so.
